Wikipedia Topics

For my final project, the topics that I am interested in creating a Wikipedia page for are:

  • Camerata Pacifica:  a chamber music ensemble based in California.  The group was founded by flutist Adrian Spence in 1990, and now consists of nine core musicians.  They frequently bring in guest artists to perform a wide variety of music.  Camerata Pacifica regularly performs contemporary music and has commissioned many new works.  They also perform chamber works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and Debussy, just to name a few.  Their concerts have been reviewed as “innovative and intrepid”.
  • Ensemble Signal:  a new music ensemble based in New York.  The ensemble varies in size and instrumentation so that it can perform all genres of 21st-century music.  Since being founded in 2008, the group has given premiers of over 20 works.  Besides performing in prestigious concert halls and festivals, the group frequently gives workshops to educate young composers.
  • Eric Lamb:  a flutist who has given premiers of over 200 works.  He is a core member of the International Contemporary Ensemble, and has also performed with many other groups, including Alarm Will Sound and the American Contemporary Music Ensemble.  While performing and working closely with living composers, Lamb shares his knowledge by presenting workshops and masterclasses throughout the U.S. and Europe.
